John Piper, who has driven countless times on the bridge that collapsed yesterday in Minneapolis, gives his thoughts on the tragedy, calling us to remember Jesus’ words on tragedy in Luke 13. Al Mohler also comments on the tragedy, calling us to remember the sobering words of Jonathan Edwards’ “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”. Both are telling us the same thing, namely, that tragedy has a message: “Don’t think that your next breath is guaranteed! God can at any moment remove your soul from this earth, and you must make sure that you will stand before the Almighty Judge as righteous! Receive the righteousness that Jesus accomplished for you! Come to Him, and be cleansed of your sins before it is too late, for YOU TOO WILL LIKEWISE PERISH!!!
