The Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia is hosting a debate today on religion in the public square. The proposed resolution is this: “Religion should have no place in politics of government.”
Arguing for the resolution will be Rev. Barry Lynn, Executive Director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and Jacques Berlinerblau, Assoc. Professor and Director for the Program for Jewish Civilization at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.
Arguing against the resolution will be Chuck Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship, and Bishop Harry Jackson, senior pastor of Hope Christian Church. It will be broadcast live here at 7 p.m. EST, and it will also air on PBS. I’m not certain about the particular times in the particular areas.
