In Montgomery County, MD, students will be getting a kinder, gentler education on Islam. Apparently jihad and sharia law are “inconvenient truths” for those writing the textbooks. I don’t have any problem with schools teaching Islam in schools (though it is odd that Christianity is unconstitutional), but I do have a problem with a deceptive, deliberate exclusion of facts to make Islam sound like just another view of life. I thought schools were supposed to educate, not mislead. But I guess that shouldn’t surprise us; our schools still teach Darwinism. This should lead us to an important question: exactly who determines which truths are inconvenient?
