Two presidents are having a little controversy lately over their church membership. The first is the Commander in Chief. Eric Redmond has a very good article on President Obama’s recent church membership woes. The second is the new president of Baylor University, Kenneth Starr. Starr has spent most of his life in the Church of Christ and is currently a member of McLean Bible Church in McLean, VA. This has caused a stir among some about his leadership at a Baptist university like Baylor. Nathan Finn gives a generous view on that issue. In both cases, of course, we can observe that it is a dangerous thing to mix church membership with politics!
